Lifestyle of Himachal
Himachal Pradesh is very famous for its awesome weather and peaceful environment. Most of the people in India always prefer Himachal Pradesh to visit in summers because the weather of Himachal is very moderate in summer session. Himachal Pradesh is a northern Indian state in the Himalayas. It is almost covered with mountains and rivers. Shimla, Dalhousie, Manali, Kullu, Kajjiyar, kasauli, Sirmour, Chail etc are many places in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal is a land of God and Goddess. So many famous temples are situated in Himachal Pradesh like Naina Devi, Chintpurni, Jawala Ji, Kali Badi, Jaghu Temple and Shri Khand Mahadev etc. People used to visit Himachal for these religious places. This state is land of festivals and fairs. Dushehra of Kullu, Minjar fair of Chamba, Shoolini fair of Solan is very popular.
On 25th January, 1971, Himachal Pradesh was made a full-fledged state of independent India. The state is bordered by J&K, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand. It has 12 districts. It contains an area of 21,495 sq mi having 6,864,602 populations. Shimla is its capital. In past many tribes find their homes in the hills in Himachal Pradesh. Most of the people of Himachal belong to Aryans, only people of Lahaul and Spiti belongs to Mongol.
Himachal is very famous for its beauty, culture & heritage. But along with this Himachal is on second rank for education in India. Here crime rate is also very low. In terms of education, Industries and fashion Himachal always set the stage. Shimla, Hamirpur, Una are the hub for education sector, Baddi in Solan is one of the biggest industrial areas in North India and Mandi, Shimla are always known for its fashion sense. Infact Mandi is called Mini Mumbai also.
People of Himachal Pradesh
People of Himachal are very simple and hard working. To earn their living here is very difficult. They have to do lot of hard work to fulfill their daily needs. Due to hilly area people have to walk a long on narrow paths for their basic commodities. Himachalis are thriving into agriculture as their basic source of income. Different caste and religions are there in Himachal. Hindu and Buddhists are mainly there in Himachal. Hindu can find everywhere but the Buddhists are in McleodGanj, Dharamshala, Lahualand in Spiti areas. Some of them are living in Shimla also.
People of Himachal are very humble and helpful. They are very much far away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. They love their mountains and valleys. That why they don’t need to go out to find rest and peaceful moments.
Farming in Himachal
Farming is the most important part of lifestyle in Himachal. Most of the people are busy in farming. Instead of farming they are busy with cattle for their income. Sheeps, Goats and other cattle are also helping them to earn living. Apple farming is the most important part of farming. Most of the people in Upper Himachal are earning their living for whole year by selling their apples only. Potato, Peas, Cauliflower, Beans etc. are some important vegetables in Himachal. People do terrace farming due to heavy rainfall and snow fall. This type of farming saves soil erosion.
Almost 90% of Himachal population is living in villages. There are almost no proper cities in Himachal Pradesh. They live in very simple and twin storey houses. Wooden work can always see in their houses. Mostly they use woods to make houses. They are not very large in size. In every village of Himachal you could see a temple of their Village Devi Devta. People of Himachal mostly speak their regional languages but Hindi is very common and speaks by everyone there.
Songs and Celebration
People of Himachal are very famous for their songs and celebrations. They don’t use ornamental things and entertainment to celebrate. They celebrate with their own songs and folk which are full of charm and joy. Their folk are inspired mostly by religionand romantic ideas. Nati is the folk of Himachal which is very famous. Males and Females make a ring/chain and dance simultaneously and sing Nati to enjoy their occasions.
Dresses and Fashion
People of Himachal are very simple in their dresses also. Due to the weather their skin remains glowing and they don’t put makeup to enhance their beauty. We can say that girls are blessed with natural beauty. Mostly women in Himachal don themselves in Scarves and shawls and the men wear different types of kurtas with Himachali Caps.
In other places males used to wear kurtas with churidar and women wear Ghaghara and Choli also.
Himachali caps and dhatu are very famous. People from different caste wear accordingly. But their dressing always represents simplicity. Their faces with their simple dresses represent themselves as they are most honest, hardworking and helpful people.
In and all we can say if you are tired with your city life and want peace in your life you should visit Himachal Pradesh. This place and people are very close to nature. You can visit that place for your mental peace.
