Monsoon rain reaches Mumbai is all set for experiencing the heavy rain. According to the Indian Metrological Department or IMD Mumbai will not only face heavy rain but also has the chances of facing very heavy rainfall. The expectation for rainfall is all over Maharashtra.
According to the forecast, there are many places in Maharashtra which will experience heavy rainfall on 9th of June. The places include Thane, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad and Palghar districts. As per the forecast, the rain will fall similarly in the six districts including Mumbai and its surrounding areas.
The met department forecast says that there is a high alert for the state calamity relief cell. This is in almost all the places of the state and most importantly in the Konkan region. Now the districts are under the instructions for remaining on high alert if they face any emergency condition. All these instructions are under the Government.
For working round the clock many places received the directions. The places include district collector’s office, control rooms in Mantralaya, municipal corporation, divisional commissioner’s office and tehsildar office.
The municipal corporation of Thane gave ideas to people living in Thane to shift to safe places. People will have to shift to safe places instead of staying in low lying areas. This will help them to avoid submerge conditions in heavy rain. More than 35 flood-prone areas are present in Thane.
For an emergency in case of heavy rain in Mumbai
For emergency, people in Mumbai can dial 1916 and for outsiders of Mumbai, it is 1077. Due to technical difficulties, the trains of harbour line are running late. There are waterlogging incidents in some parts of the city.
