Newton Won Best Hindi Film Award at National Film Awards

Newton is a 2017 Indian comedy drama film. Rajkummar Rao the lead of movie is happy as the film wins Best Hindi Film award at the 65th National Film Awards. It was officially send by India in Oscar, but failed to register itself in the final list.

Rajkummar in a statement expressed his happiness and said, “It’s a huge achievement for all of us. Newton is such a unique and a special film for all of us. It’s a film which made with so much purity and honesty, without keeping any commercial aspects in mind.”

65th National Film Award:

The winners of 65th National Film Awards announced by a 10-member jury headed by renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Where Newton won Best Hindi Film Award, Baahubali 2 won Best Action Film Award. Pankaj Tripathi of Newton fame also won special mention for his performance in the movie. Late actress Sridevi won the Best Actress award for her performance in MOM that released in July last year. Vinod Khanna posthumously given the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Story, Cast and Crew of Newton:

Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patiland and Raghubir Yadav starrer Newton is a comedy dram Hindi film. The film produced by Manish Mundra under Drishyam Films. Amit V. Masurkar is the director of the movie. Story of the movie revolves around a government clerk who tries to conduct fair voting in Naxal controlled town in India.

Movie had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival held from 9 to 19th February 2017 in Berlin, Germany while in India it got released on 22 September 2017. Film grossed Rs 11.75 crore in the first week in India only. The movie regarded as one of the most profitable films of 2017.
