Poonam Yadav CWG Gold Medalist Attacked in Varanasi

Poonam Yadav a famous weightlifter attacked with bricks and stones by unidentified assailants on Saturday (14-04-2018) at her relative place in Varanasi, UP. Poonam Yadav won Gold medal in ongoing Commonwealth Games 2018.

Glance on Whole Incident:

According to reports, Poonam, who had arrived her Dandupur village on Friday (13-04-2018) had gone to meet her uncle Kailash Yadav in Mungwar village under Rohania police station on Saturday. Before her arrival her relative had a fight with neighbor regarding to land dispute. It led to attacking Kailash and her family members by their neighbors.

It learnt that Poonam Yadav was at her aunt’s house when one of their neighbors attacked the her. Her sister Shashi Yadav claimed that she suffered some injuries in stone pelting. Her family members and relatives too suffered from some injuries during this incident. Police is supervising the whole incident carefully. Soon after the incident Poonam Yadav left the village.

Who is Poonam Yadav:

Poonam Yadav is an Indian weightlifter who born at July 1995 in Uttar Pradesh, India. The daughter of a small farmer Poonam grew up lending a helping hand to her parents in a Benaras village (UP). From the very beginning she was very interested in sports and games. With three years intense training she got a chance to represent India. She paricipated in the women’s 63 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. She won Bronze medal there. In 2018 Commonwealth Games she makes India proud by winning gold medal. She won the gold medal by lifting a total of 222 kg: 100 kg in Snatch and 122 kg in Clean and jerk in 2018 Commonwealth Games in women’s 69 kg division.

India is so proud to have women like Poonam Yadav. She did a lot of hard work to full fill her dream ti represent India in CWG. May she achieve great heights in life.
